PH19222: OBJECT COMPARE PAGENUM ABSOLUTE DSSIZE SQLCODE = -628; ADB8013E ERROR VERIFYING CHANGE TO COMMENT ON COLUMN

Error description

• This APAR addresses two issues:
  
  1) Comparing a V12 tablespace to a V11 tablespace results in a
  difference with partition DSSIZE.  However, the source
  tablespace has PAGENUM ABSOLUTE.  A Db2 restriction states
  that there cannot be a change to partition DSSIZE if the
  tablespace's PAGENUM value is ABSOLUTE.  Compare nevertheless
  generates a change to DSSIZE for the tablespace partitions,
  resulting in SQLCODE = -628 at runtime.
  
  This fix will ensure Compare does not result in a change to
  DSSIZE for the tablespace partition if the tablespace PAGENUM is
  ABSOLUTE.  There will be a warning message issued indicating
  that no change will be done.
  
  2) Verification of a change to a comment on an existing column
  on a table may fail with the following message:
  
  ADB8013E An attempt was made to alter a column record, but the
  specified table does not contain this column >column_name<.

  1) ANALYZE (merge module) fails to process a COMMENT
  statement that is issued against a history table and returns the
  following error:
  
  ADB8013E An attempt was made to alter a column record, but the
  specified table does not contain this column column_name.
  
  2)Object Compare wrongly allows table space changes to the
  partition-level DSSIZE when PAGENUM is ABSOLUTE. To change the
  partition-level DSSIZE value, PAGENUM must be RELATIVE. The
  following message is returned:
  
  DSNT408I SQLCODE = -628, ERROR: THE CLAUSES
  ARE MUTUALLY EXCLUSIVE
  
  A warning message should indicate that this change
  is not allowed.
  
  3) Object Compare reports incorrect partition DSSIZE changes on
  table spaces that are migrated from Db2 11 (or earlier versions)
  when compared to table spaces that are created in Db2 12.
  

Problem conclusion

• 1) The problem is resolved.
  2) The following warning is now issued in this situation:
  ADB7230W Change to DSSIZE is not valid for this tablespace's
  partitions
  3) The problem is resolved.
