APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • The SYSPRINT DD statement in the JCL generated by MACRO DFSIDEF
    for the IEWL step for the type-4 SVC contains an extra comma
    after the SYSOUT=*. This causes a JCL error when running the
    job.

Local fix

  • Manually remove the comma from the generated JCL.

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:                                         *
    * The SYSPRINT DD statement in the JCL generated by MACRO *
    * DFSIDEF for the IEWL step for the type-4 SVC contains an *
    * extra comma in the SYSPRINT statement after the SYSOUT=* *
    * parameter. This causes a JCL error when running the job. *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    * INSTALL CORRECTIVE SERVICE FOR APAR/PTF                      *
    ****************************************************************
    An installation can use the DFSIDEF macro with TYPE=GEN
    specified to generate JCL as output. The generated JCL can then
    be used to link and bind the SVC type 2 and type 4 modules
    during the System Generation process. The JCL generated for the
    type 4 module has an extraneous comma in the SYSPRINT statement,
    which causes a JCL error when the JCL is run.

Problem conclusion

  • DFSIDEF has been modified to remove the extraneous comma.
