Error description

  • When using the CICS Explorer "Regions" view, there is a column
showing the region's Startup Date. But when trying to create a
quick filter for one of the values, this results in an empty
    view and error message:
    .
     CNX0226W A filter contained an
    invalid value.
    .

As a side note, when looking at the general
help for this field, it states: "The date is expressed in local
    time."
    .
This apar is being raised to address this from the
CICS server side in addition to the CICS Explorer apar IJ18172.

When applying a filter on a clock unit time value, CPSM requires
the time to be formatted without the period information. If the
filter is provided with period information, the GraphQL query
returns an error similar to this:
"Exception while fetching data (/cicsplex/cicsResources/task) :
    Response was FAILED, EXCEPTION"
    .

When applying a filter on Region startup time, CPSM requires the
time to be formatted as yyyy/ddd (year and day of the year). The
CMCI GraphQL server application does not translate input into
this format, so queries specifying a filter value for region
startup time will return an error similar to this:
    "Exception while fetching data (/cicsplex/cicsResources/cicsrgn)
    : Response was INVALIDATA, CRITERIA"
    .
CICS Explorer uses should also apply CICS Explorer APAR IJ18172
to correct similar queries issued by the Explorer.

    Additional Keywords:
    SixteenMSDataType ClockUnitsDataType
    SClockDataType Sclock12DataType
    microseconds seconds packed_decimal_seconds sixteen_ms
    clock_units

Problem conclusion

  • The CMCI JVM server has been modified to return the correct
format for clock unit time attributes, and to translate the
displayed region startup time values into the correct format
for filtering, when responding to GraphQL requests.
