    files & folders under Profile_Home/config/cells/ causing
    Liberty Report hung on console

Local fix

  • Customer should move the save plugin-cfg files to a different
    directory and rerun the iscdeploy -restore
    

Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    * USERS AFFECTED:  All users of IBM WebSphere Application      *
    *                  Server using the administrative console     *
    *                  for management.                             *
    ****************************************************************
    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: The update of the profile templates     *
    *                      during a ptf or ifix install of the     *
    *                      administrative console could fail.      *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:  Remove backup copies of plugin-cfg.xml      *
    *                  from the cell config directory.             *
    ****************************************************************
    The admin console assumed only a plugin-cfg.xml and cell
    directory in the cell config.  When there were files, the
    update of the consoles profile config would fail.
    

Problem conclusion

  • Changed the console iscdeploy code to ignore all files in the
    cell directory to find the path to the admin console
    application so that updates would be performed correctly.
    
    The fix for this APAR is targeted for inclusion in fix pack
    8.5.5.17 and 9.0.5.3.  For more information, see 'Recommended
