Error description

  • You are running CICS 5.4 and have a customized security program
and you wish to obtain the external security manager (ESM)
parameter list. Your SIT has ESMEXITS=INSTLN.
In your application program you issue an EXEC CICS VERIFY
    command.
The INITIPTR field in the ESM contains X'00' instead of an
    address to the parameter list.

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: EXEC CICS VERIFY PHRASE does not pass *
    * installation data to the ESM when *
    *                      ESMEXITS=INSTLN is coded.               *
    ****************************************************************
In the reported problem, the user had ESMEXITS=INSTLN coded in
their SIT. This meant that installation data should be passed
on RACROUTE requests from CICS to the ESM.
However, for an EXEC CICS VERIFY PHRASE command, no such data
was passed to the ESM on the first verification of the day.
The user had an active ESM program referencing installation data
but for this EXEC CICS VERIFY PHRASE, the ESM program had
    nothing to work with.

Problem conclusion

  • DFHXSSB has been updated and will now pass a reference to the
installation data for the first EXEC CICS VERIFY PHRASE command
of the day for each userid.
