PH18675: UCD PLUGIN VERSION 48 IGNORES TIMEOUT SETTINGS

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Deployments via the UCD plugin, time out immediately if the
  "wait timeout" value is set to -1 (intending to wait for an
  indefinite time).

Problem summary

  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:                                         *
  * The expectation from timeout value on UCB:                   *
  * Default Value: 3600 seconds.                                 *
  *                                                              *
  * wait timeout: -1 -> This means wait indefinitely until the   *
  * process completes.                                           *
  * wait timeout: <any other positive value in seconds>: This    *
  * job step will wait for so many numbers of seconds, if the    *
  * process is not completed it will mark it as a failure.       *
  *                                                              *
  * If the value is -1, then the job[Say: Deploy Component       *
  * Version] will have to wait for the process to finish. But    *
  * code logic seems to be out of sync with what is expected.    *
  *                                                              *

  * One more condition along with wait timeout that we need to   *
  * consider is "APPROVAL REQUEST".                              *
  * If the approval request is set on UCD,                       *
  *                                                              *
  * If the approval request is rejected: mark the UCB job as a   *
  * failure.                                                     *
  * If approval request is accepted and deployment is complete   *
  * with-in the wait timeout mentioned: mark it as a success.    *
  * If approval request is accepted and deployment is not        *
  * complete with-in the wait timeout mentioned: mark it as a    *
  * failure.                                                     *

Problem conclusion

• This defect has been fixed in the newer version of plugin 51.
  The new behavior will now wait till wait out time mentioned also
  check if the status of deployment is "Approval Required".
  
  Basically, the request needs to be approved and process needs to
  be completed within the wait time configured.
