Security -> Password -> Policy and change Enabled to false
    4.	Navigate to Administration -> Users
    5.	Create a new user, set the password to 4 characters in
length, fill in all mandatory fields and click create
    6.	Associate this new user to a role template with access to the
Task UI as well as the Standard UI

Security -> Password -> Policy and change Enabled to true

    Steps to Reproduce:

    2.	Click on the user icon on the top right and click on Change
    Password
    3.	Enter the current password, which is less than 4 characters,
and note that since it doesn?t comply with the password policy
of min 6 chars, the Save button is not clickable
    4.	Click Cancel
    5.	Switch to the Standard UI
    6.	Click on the username at the top and select My Settings
    7.	Click on Change Password, and confirm you can make the
password change here, even though the old password does not
    conform to the policy

    Expected Results:

Task UI should allow users to change their passwords, even if
their old password does not conform to the password policy

    Actual Results:

Task UI does not allow users to change their password if the old
password does not conform to the password policy

    Error Message:

    None

Local fix

  • User needs to request an administrator to reset their password
first or needs access to Standard UI to change the password

Problem conclusion

  • Problem: Users cannot change their password if the old password
does not pass the password policy in the Task UI.
Solution: We now do not check the password policy when a user
inputs the current password in the Task UI.

Customers should download OpenPages 8.2 from Passport Advantage.
See the following document for details on obtaining OpenPages
    8.2:
