    1. A new parameter is introduced in OFFLOAD to enable the
    selection of data.
    2. SQL texts longer than 2MB are truncated or produce abends
while viewing in exceptions and operational summaries panels
due to writing records in datasets in incorrect order.
    3. Records longer than 2MB are written in parts in datasets but
addresses of the parts were set incorrectly.
    4. If OFFLOAD was started during interval switch, there can be
data loss or message CQM2604E LOGIC ERROR VSAM VSAMRC = x'08
'VSAMRS = x'0400', because interval statistics is accumulated,
calculated and recorded in file only at the moment of finishing
    interval switch.
Also attempts to OFFLOAD current (active) interval caused only
partial offloading of data due to the same reason as interval
    switch problem.
    5. Default PRIQTY and SECQTY were changed to -1 to allow Db2
to set the suitable values for OFFLOAD new tablespace creation.

Problem conclusion

  • 1. New FILTER_DB2_SUBSYSTEM parameter has been added to OFFLOAD
process. See documentation about its usage.

    2. Algorithm for saving data into interval files was changed to
    calculate record length correctly.

    3. Algorithm for controlling sequence of record segments while
writing data to interval files was fixed.

    4. OFFLOAD logic has been changed to wait until interval switch
is finished. Customer is informed about such wait via new
    message:
CQM1047I WAITING FOR THE COMPLETION OF THE PROCESS OF
INTERVALS SWITCHING FOR THE CQM SUBSYSTEM xxxx

An attempt to offload the active interval will fail now, OFFLOAD
terminates with RC = 4, interval files are not offloaded, and a
    new error message is displayed:
CQM1048E CURRENT INTERVAL FILES ARE INCOMPLETE AND CANNOT BE
    OFFLOADED

    5. Default PRIQTY and SECQTY are set to -1 to allow Db2 to set
    suitable values.
