    * function and Recovery function. *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the maintenance for this APAR. *
    ****************************************************************
    - In APAR PH12098, IMS HP Image Copy retrieves the data set
name from database MDA member and obtains the data set
allocation information from the catalog. If the correct MDA
member is not found in the libraries of STEPLIB or IMSDALIB
DD, IMS HP Image Copy should bypass the corresponded
database. But IMS HP Image Copy terminates abnormally with
      ABEND U3906.
    - In HLADB allocation process in the Image Copy function,
DBDALLOC=N specification is ignored and then input database
data sets are always allocated dynamically.
    - In Create Image Copy function and Recovery function which
run with DBRC=Y, DSDALLOC=N specification is ignored and
then necessary input data sets are allocated based on the
      information in DBRC RECON.

Problem conclusion

  • IMS HP Image Copy has been fixed problems as follows:
    - When database MDA member is not found in the libraries of
STEPLIB or IMSDALIB, IMS HP Image Copy bypass the process for
corresponded database entry and continues the process for
other databases. Its JOB step return code is 8.
    - When DSDALLOC=N is provided in the Image Copy function,
provided JCL DD statements of database data sets for HALDB
      are used.
    - When DSDALLOC=N is provided in Create Image Copy function and
Recovery function, the process uses provided JCL DD
      statements as input.
