Error description

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:                                         *
    * PH16342                                                      *
    * A performance issue may occur when unloading LOB data in SQL *
    * mode. The unload slows down along with the number of *
    * unloaded rows.                                               *
    * This occurs when Db2 HPU retrieves the LOB data through LOB *
    * locators, if LOB data are unloaded in a spanned data set. *
    *                                                              *
    * PH16673                                                      *
    * Unloading the data from a FlashCopy of a partition of a *
    * partition-by-growth table space produces an output data set *
    * with extra rows.                                             *
    * This occurs only if the following conditions are fullfilled: *
    * - the FlashCopy data set to be used as input is allocated *
    * through a DD statement and the associated COPYDDN ddname, *
    * FLASHCOPY option is specified *
    * - the PART/SQLPART option is specified and does not require *
    * the whole set of partitions be processed *
    *                                                              *
    * PH18085                                                      *
    * Support Entropy encoding (HUFFMAN compression) brought by *
    * Db2 V12 function level 504.                                  *
    *                                                              *
    * PH18088                                                      *
    * After the enhancement for PH14986 has been applied, the *
    * following issues can occur during the unload of the data *
    * from an image copy. *
    * - an ABENDS0C4 occurs during the unload of the data from an *
    * image copy.                                                  *
    * - an undue check of the image copy dataset to determine *
    * whether it is encrypted is performed if VUM037/CRYPTUSR is *
    * not set                                                      *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    * Apply the PTF                                                *

Problem conclusion

  • Apply the PTF

Temporary fix

  • PH16673
    If applicable, allocating the image copy with a generic DDname
    allows to get a correct output. For example, specify COPYDDN
    FLASHC, FLASHCOPY and allocate the image copy data sets of the
    partitions to be used as input through DD statements as follows:
    //FLASHCnnn DD DISP=...
    where nnn is the number of the partition the image copy
    contains.
