Error description

  • The message validation for SR2019 allows incorrectly code word
/ABIC/UKWN in fields 53J, 56J, 57J, 58J, 82J, 83J, 87J of MT300
and MT304 in Sequence A and Sequence B, which results in a T28
NAK from SWIFT.

Problem summary

  • The validation for SR2019 is incorrect for PARTYFLD/J Format7,
Format8, Format9.
This affects fields 53J, 56J, 57J, 58J, 82J, 83J, 87J in
Sequences A and Sequence B of MT300 and MT304.
- The code word "/ABIC/UKWN" is incorrectly allowed, which
results in a T28 NAK from SWIFT.
- The length validation for code words "/ADD1/", "/ADD2/",
"/CITY/", "/CLRC/" allows 35 characters instead of 34.

Problem conclusion

  • The message validation is corrected according to the "SWIFT
Standards - Message Format Validation Rules".
