Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All CICS users with UI64379 applied * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: msgDFHSJ0001 issued after an 0C4 at * * offset 54A4 in DFHSJJS. * **************************************************************** A Liberty JVM server is running in CICS. A Link to Liberty application is either added or removed from the JVM. This process causes CICS to create a CJSP task on a Liberty thread. The CJSP task is used to add or remove program definitions related to the Link to Liberty application. After the CJSP task completes, the thread it was using is returned to the Liberty thread pool. Liberty then uses this thread for work that does not require a CICS task. As part of that work, the security context needs to be set on the thread. The CICSThreadIdentityService gets notified that the thread security context is changing. An IsCICS.getApiStatus() call is made to see if there is a current CICS task environment. This call incorrectly returns CICS_REGION_AND_API_ALLOWED which causes a DFHSJJS SWITCH_PTHREAD_CONTEXT call to be made. DFHSJJS suffers an 0C4 abend when accessing the XM TXN control block because there isn't actually a transaction running.
Problem conclusion
CICS has been change to correctly clean up the task state after a CJSP task has completed. This will cause IsCICS.getApiStatus() to return the correct answer and prevent the unexpected call to DFHSJJS SWITCH_PTHREAD_CONTEXT from being made.
