PH17163: IIDR CDC FOR Z/OS SUBSCRIPTION SEND OUT THE REPORT_POSITION MESSAGE WITH AN INVALID TIMESTAMP CAUSES AN ABNORMAL HIGH LATENCY

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• If an IIDR CDC for z/OS subscription issues an IFI 306 READS
  request that is delayed in processing, REPORT_POSITION messages
  sent during that period will contain a time stamp of
  1900-01-01-00.00.00.000000. This will cause the target engine to
  miscalculate latency, which will be abnormally high.

  A CDC for z/OS subscription can send out the REPORT_POSITION
  message with an invalid timestamp, which will cause an
  abnormally high latency to be calculated and displayed.
  

Problem conclusion

• With this fix, the REPORT_POSITION message is no longer sent
  when the log data is not yet returned from an IFI 306 READS
  request.
