Error description
The following items to be addressed: 1. IMS x'9904' log record data may be externalized to the IMS log split across multiple, non-consecutive, physical IMS x'9904' log records. The presentation and handling of x'9904' data fields when the data is split in this way can be adversely impacted. In particular, the IBM Common Services Library for z/OS field data scrub utility is affected. 2. RMF record updates affecting SMF record types 70, 72 and 79 are not supported. 3. SMF 62 and 64 record updates are not supported. 4. The Knowledge Module to support the IMS V15 x'4050' checkpoint log record used to checkpoint the functions enabled bitmap is absent. 5. Db2 V12 introduced changes that affect Transaction Analysis Workbench. 6. The presentation of a number of small SMF field values is considered inadequate. 7. SMF log stream zEDC compression is not supported. Problem conclusion
1. Transaction Analysis Workbench's batch processing is changed to identify split IMS x'9904' records on the IMS log. It will merge such related, split x'9904' records into a single consolidated record which contains the associated sub components. The contents of the resulting record are then delivered as individual x'9904' records for each segment in the merged record. 2. IMS x'9904' records which have been processed in batch by point 1 above and are subsequently used as input to either the Transaction Analysis Workbench dialog or the IBM Common Services Library for z/OS scrub utility, will be supported in the same manner as non-split IMS x'9904' log records. 3. Updates have been made to some Knowledge Modules as a result of RMF and SMF service updates. 4. The Knowledge Module to support the IMS V15 x'4050' checkpoint log record used to checkpoint the functions enabled bitmap has been added. The IMS x'4050' log record was introduced by IMS PTF UI52153. 5. Support for Db2 V12 has been added. 6. Various SMF Knowledge Modules have been enhanced to improve presentation of sundry small fields. 7. Support has been added for SMF log stream zEDC compression. 8. Support has been added for CICS TS V5.5 VRM=720.
