Error description

  • NullPointerException reported without stack trace printed,
    open this APAR to print the thread who reports
    NullPointerException with message like below:
    SystemErr R In processing an FFDC incident, a recursive FFDC
    call was made. No incident created:
    java.lang.NullPointerException

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: SystemErr log reports a recursive       *
    *                      FFDC, but no FFDC record is generated.  *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    If an exception is coming from the WebSphere's FFDC component,
    FFDC incident generation is suppressed to prevent recursive
    FFDC calls.
    As a result, no FFDC record is generated for the exception.
    Users will not be able to trace back to the exact place where
    the exception occurs.
    The fix will allow FFDC to be created at most once if it's
    recursive.
