Error description
The following error message occurred after CICS restart: DFHTD0250 xxxx Dynamic allocation of queue CESE failed. Return code X'0000000C',X'035C' in module DFHTDOC. . You started up CICS region Initial at some point in the past and that start-up had the CEEMSG DD Card present. Then again at some point in the past, you changed the CESE in the running CICS region using CEMT, such as doing a DISable. That CICS region was then closed down cleanly and CICS then catalog this DCT to the Global catalog, including this temporary data set name. All was well when the DD card was still in the JCL as CICS were see that this was 'preallocated' and use a new temporary data set name. But when the DD card was removed and CICS tried to issue the dynamic allocate it would have read the global catalog and seen that it contained a DSNAME and tried to use that DSNAME. This is incorrect. Additional Symptom(s) Search Keyword(s): KIXREVCHY DFHTD0250 TD0250 035C

Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All CICS Users. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Message DFHTD0250 Return Code * * X'0000000C',X'035C' in Module DFHTDOC * * when trying to dynamically allocate a * * SYSOUT data set for CEEMSG. * **************************************************************** It is possible to receive message DFHTD0250 on CICS start up when CICS tries to dynamically allocate a data set for CEEMSG. This can happen if the Enablestatus has been changed in the past. This change in status is incorrectly cataloging the current data set name on the Global catalog, this is a temporary name supplied by JES. When CICS is re-started AUTO the temporary data set name is attempted to be used, but this data set is not valid for this run of CICS. The same problem can happen with any Extrapartition TD Queue which has a destination of SYSOUT. Keywords: msgDFHTD0250 TD0250
Problem conclusion
DFHTDTM has been changed to avoid cataloging a SYSOUT destination temporary data set name when the Enablestatus is updated.
