PH14682: NAVIGATION BAR SETTINGS CAUSES DISAPPEARANCE OF DASHBOARD WIDGETFILTER ICONS

Error description

  • When viewing or editing a dashboard when accessed via 'Recent'
    on the home page, widget filter icons do not visibly appear if
    the 'New' feature from the Navigation Bar is removed for the
    user viewing the dashboard (there are a few conditions on this
    which will be described later).
    When the filter icons disappear, they can still be accessed by
    clicking on the empty location that the filter should be - so
    the issue is only visual, but significant.
    
    The issue does not occur when accessing the dashboard via the
    content pane.
    
    Also, disabling the Navigation Bar entirely by applying
    '?ui_navbar=false' to the URL also causes the filter icons to
    disappear, regardless of how the dashboard was accessed, and
    regardless of the Navigation Bar customizations.
    

Local fix

  • There is no known workaround for the filters disappearing when
    disabling the entire navigation bar. The workaround for the
    other situation is to open the dashboard from the My Content /
    Team Content, or to click on the previously mentioned icons in
    the navigation bar after loading the dashboard.
