Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All CICS IA users who collect dependencies * * on TD queues, that also have the global * * option 'DYNAMIC' set to 'N'. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Users may experience random 0C4 abends * * in CICS IA global exit CIUXCCD1, when * * collecting dependencies for TD queues. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the PTF * **************************************************************** CICSIA dependency collection has been enabled for TD queues, and the global option for collection of dynamic program calls is set to 'N'. The global XTDEREQC exit CIUXCCD1 incorrectly attempts to find the offset of a COBOL DISPLAY statement for programs that are not using this statement. The function to find the offset of the DISPLAY statement relies on storage that has not been initialized, and may experience an 0C4 abend depending on the contents of uninitialized storage. The statement offset for the EXEC CICS READQ/WRITEQ will be set to 'FFFFFFFF'x indicating that the statement offset could not be calculated.
Problem conclusion
CIUXCCD1 is amended to calculate the offset of the COBOL DISPLAY statement only for those programs that actually are using this statement.
