APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • After enabling Asynchronous license processing during an upgrade
    of IBM Rational ClearCase, the error
       Error: Operation "sysutl_user_to_sid: failed: NT
    Starts appearing continually in the "lad" server logs (more than
    20x / second).
    
    This seems to occur if Windows scheduled tasks are attempting to
    perform clearcase operations as the "Network Service" or "Local
    Service" (different from the "LocalSystem") user.
    

Local fix

  • Disable Asynchronous license processing by using the
    Installation Manager "modify" function to remove the process.

Problem conclusion
