Error description

  • During Liberty server startup, the following message may be
    seen in messages.log:
    CWWKE0701E: bundle com.ibm.ws.security.keyring.saf
    along with the following text:
    The setNotificationDelegate method has thrown an exception
    java.lang.NullPointerException
    Attempts to use the MODIFY,servername,REFRESH,KEYSTORE
    command may fail.

    A NullPointerException occurred while the MBean backing the
    REFRESH,KEYSTORE command was created.  This causes the
    REFRESH,KEYSTORE command to fail.  The following may be seen in
    messages.log:
    CWWKE0701E: bundle com.ibm.ws.security.keyring.saf:1.0.28.xxx
    (xxx)[com.ibm.ws.security.keyring.saf.internal.SAFKeyRingNotific
    ationMbeanImpl(xxx)] : The setNotificationDelegate method has
    thrown an exception java.lang.NullPointerException
    
    An attempt was made to use the bundle context of the OSGi
    service before the bundle context had been set into the
    service.
