Error description

  • A CM Batch import and validation (VALIDATE_DDL) of an ALTER
    statement of a 3-part table name correctly flags that the table
    name is invalid. However, the ADB3001E error message contains
    a "." (dot) instead of the table name:

    ADB3001E An error occurred while processing the Table . object
    in the statement type of ALTER . Object does not exist.

    This fix supplies the table name in the message.

    * z/OS who use CM batch with the validate_ddl *

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: CM Batch import of invalid ALTER *
    *                      statement (contains 3 part name)        *
    *                      results in ADB3001E                     *
    * message with "." (dot) as table name *
    *                      when using validate_ddl=Y option.       *
    ****************************************************************
    When using CM batch and validate_ddl = Y, validate issues an
    error that has only a "." (dot) in the table name field of error
    message ADB3001E. For example:

    ADB3001E An error occurred while processing the Table . object
    in the statement type of ALTER . Object does not exist.

    As a result, there is no way to figure out which table is
    causing the error.

Problem conclusion

  • The problem has been resolved.
