ABEND SB78-5C during Fault Analyzer * * IDIS subsystem shutdown when VSM * * VIRT STOR APAR OA56180 is applied. * * APAR PH13396 * * * * * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the provided PTF. * **************************************************************** 01. During the capture of related LE messages the returned message was being incorrectly copied to a message buffer and in so doing caused invalid data to be stored which led to the incorrect possible loop message. 02. Inefficient storage access checking. 03. ISPF was filling the value in memory with garbage data if it hadn't been saved before (i.e. on first use), instead of initialising them as 0, which was stated in the ISPF documentation. 04. FA issued FREEMAIN in the wrong key.
Problem conclusion
01. The message copy code has been fixed accordingly. 02. Storage access checking processing has been improved. 03. Added a check to enforce the saved boolean toggle value to be either 0 or 1. 04. FA changes to the correct key before FREEMAIN is issued.
