APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • In IBM Explorer for z/OS v3.1.1.16, JCL editor fails to open
datasets from a generation data group (GDG).

For example with a DD like:

//MYDD  DD DISP=SHR, DSN=TST.EAV.GDG(G0001V00)


Press CTRL key and hover over the member name G0001V00 and click
menu open.

Error is raised:

CRRZI0022E The dataset member 'TST.EAV.GDG(G0001V00)' cannot be
found. Verify that the data set and member exist on the remote
system.

Local fix

  • There is no known workaround at this time

Problem summary

  • When a user tries to open a GDG data set via hyperlink from the
JCL Editor, the dataset is not found.

Problem conclusion

  • The JCL Editor hyperlink didn't support GDG data sets.
