Error description
You may observe an error when attempting to connect to an RTC 6.0.x server when the RTC client is installed with RAD 9.6.1.2. Attempts to establish a connection to an RTC 6.0.x server when the RTC client is installed into the same package group with RAD 9.6.1.2 (i.e shell-sharing) may result in several pop-up errors when logging into the RTC/Jazz server. Additionally, the following stack trace may also be observed in the RAD workspace .log file: !ENTRY com.ibm.team.repository.client 4 2 2018-12-13 13:38:05.026 !MESSAGE Problems occurred when invoking code from plug-in: "com.ibm.team.repository.client". !STACK 0 java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: org.eclipse.datatools.modelbase.sql.tables.OracleDerivedTable at java.lang.ClassLoader.defineClassImpl(Native Method) ... Local fix
To workaround the issue, you can: 1) Rollback to a previous RAD fix pack, i.e 9.6.1.1; 2) Install RTC and RAD into separate packagroups. Alternatively, you can apply RAD 9.6.1.3 fix pack, which contains a fix for this issue.

Problem conclusion
one of the cases that brought this issue to the forefront was TS001710430 (unable to connect to Jazz/RTC server after applying RAD 9.6.1.2 fix pack). We engaged RTC L2 directly, who worked with RTC dev via Collaboration 86074; from this the issue was determined to be a bug in RTC and the following Jazz.net work item was opened to track the issue: errors connecting to Jazz repo when RTC shellshare with 9.6.1.2 (473774)
