PH11280: PI58498 IS NOT FIXED ON 8.5.5.13 UNDER CERTAIN CIRCUMSTANCES.

APAR status

Error description

  • PI58498 fixed clearClassCache.bat execution returning "The
    system cannot find the path specified."
    But in 8.5.5.13, "The system cannot find the path specified." is
    still returning in spite of 8.5.5.13 include PI58498.
    
    For example,following order will not fix PI58498.
    
    8.5.5.0 -> 8.5.5.11 -> 8.5.5.13

    After migrating to release 8.5.5.13 or greater, the
    clearClassCache script may issue the following message
    and fail to log results when executed in European locales:
    ..
    The system cannot find the path specified.
    ..
    The problem was introduced in release 8.5.5.8 by APAR PI28774,
    which enhances the clearClassCache utility to log results.
    The problem was later repaired in 8.5.5.13 by APAR PI58498.
    PI58498 is sensitive to the content of the clearClassCache
    script and may not modify the script when it contains
    unexpected characters.
    APAR PH11280 modifies the clearClassClass script to
    include the fix for PI58498 without concern for its content.
    

Problem conclusion

  • Apply APAR PH11280 to modify clearClassCache script to log
    results when executed in all locales.
    
    The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
    fix pack 8.5.5.17.  Please refer to the Recommended Updates
    page for delivery information:
