Error description
When the Catalog Manager utility compares active ACBs in the IMS directory with DBDs in the DBDLIB and these DB types are DEDB or MSDB, it fails to retrieve the VERSION and EXIT parameters on the DBD statement with GEX3510E message with RC=0000000C RSN=00000018. Then the Catalog Manager reports the difference of these parameters between active IMS directory and DBD library. The error condition is only for comparing active ACBs in the IMS directory with DBDs in the DBDLIB and DB type is DEDB or MSDB.

Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: IMS Library Integrity Utilities for z/OS, * * Version 2 Release 2 (FMID=H27P220) users * * who use the Catalog Manager utility. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: When the Catalog Manager utility * * compares active ACBs in the IMS * * directory with DBDs in the DBDLIB and * * these database types are DEDB or MSDB, * * it fails to retrieve the VERSION and * * EXIT parameters on the DBD statement * * with GEX3510E message with RC=0000000C * * RSN=00000018. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the maintenance for this APAR. * **************************************************************** This APAR fixes the Catalog Manager utility to retrieve VERSION= and EXIT= parameters on the DBD statement of active ACBs in the IMS directory and compare active ACBs in the IMS directory with DBDs in the DBD library correctly. When the utility compares DBD type ACBs in the IMS directory and these database types are DEDB or MSDB, the utility retrieves the value of VERSION= and EXIT= parameters on the DBD statement from PSB type ACBs which refer DBD type ACBs because DBD type ACBs do not have these values. When the Catalog Manager retrieves these values from active ACBs in the IMS directory, it opens the IMS directory for active ACBs at first. Though the Catalog Manager opens the IMS directory for active ACBs, the utility incorrectly tries to access the IMS directory staging data set and it causes the issue. When the issue occurred, the message GEX3510E with RC=0000000C RSN=00000018 is reported and the difference is reported for VERSION and EXIT parameters which can not be retrieved. This is caused only when the utility compares active ACBs in the IMS directory with DBDs in the DBD library and database type is DEDB or MSDB. The utility has been fixed to access active ACBs in the IMS directory correctly.
