Error description

• This APAR addresses two issues:
  
  1) GEN/DDL of a tablespace created before DB2 V12 may
  not produce the correct DDL for parameters FREEPAGE, PCTFREE,
  and PCTFREE_UPD.
  
  2) Compare of a tablespace created before DB2 V12 with
  a DB2 V12 tablespace from either the catalog or DDL may not
  produce the correct change statements for parameters
  PCTFREE and PCTFREE_UPD.

Problem summary

• ****************************************************************
  * USERS AFFECTED: Users of the DB2 Administration Tool for     *
  *                 z/OS who use GEN/DDL and Compare with        *
  *                 tablespaces created before DB2 V12.          *
  ****************************************************************
  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Migrated tablespaces that were created  *
  *                      before DB2 V12 contain null values in   *
  *                      SYSTABLESPACE columns FREEPAGE,         *
  *                      PCTFREE, and PCTFREE_UPD. This could    *
  *                      cause invalid DDL to be generated by    *
  *                      GEN/DDL and to be used by Compare.      *
  ****************************************************************
  This APAR addresses the following issues:
  
  1) GEN/DDL of a migrated tablespace created before DB2 V12 may
  not produce the correct DDL for parameters FREEPAGE, PCTFREE,
  and PCTFREE_UPD. For example, if a tablespace was defined as
  having:
  
  FREEPAGE 15
  PCTFREE 10
  NUMPARTS 2
  
  The DDL generated might show the following:
  
  NUMPARTS 2
       (PART 2
          FREEPAGE 15 PCTFREE 10)
  
  This fix ensures that the correct parameters are generated.
  
  2) Compare of a migrated tablespace created before DB2 V12 with
  a DB2 V12 tablespace from either the catalog or DDL does not
  produce the correct change statements for parameters
  PCTFREE and PCTFREE_UPD. Compare will now do the following:
  
  1. If a V12 tablespace (or DDL equivalent to creating a V12
     tablespace) is the source, and the migrated pre-DB2 V12 TS is
     the target, the values of SYSTABLEPART columns PCTFREE and
     PCTFREE_UPD    will be used instead of NULL. If there is a
     difference between these values    and the source
     SYSTABLESPACE values, there will be a change statement
     to change the SYSTABLESPACE PCTFREE and PCTFREE_UPD
     values from NULL to the source values.
  
  2. If the migrated pre-DB2 V12 tablespace is the source and a
     V12 tablespace is the target, there is no change generated
     for the SYSTABLESPACE PCTFREE and PCTFREE_UPD parameters.
     Changes to SYSTABLEPART parameters continue as normal.
  

Problem conclusion

• The problems have been resolved.
