PH10351: IMS PA LOG REPORT JOB FAILS WITH ABENDS337 19/03/28 PTF PECHANGE

Error description

• IMS PA Pre-Merge Copy of log input files was used to create a
  consolidated input file. When processing this consolidated input
  the End-of-File was not correctly detected, causing a subsequent
  read to fail with ABENDS337-04.                    ABEND337 S337
  
  This occurs after install of APAR PI36273 / UI26233, which is
  being marked PE (due to item #3 fix in that APAR).

Problem conclusion

• APAR PI36273/UI26233 introduced support for multi-volume
  non-extended  format Merge data sets. As part of this change
  at EOF of the original log input file the maximum volume
  sequence number was determined and stored in a work area. If
  the original input file consisted of only a single block of
  data, the code that read and stored the maximum volume
  sequence number was not entered. IMS PA uses this max volume
  sequence number in determining EOF of the Merge work file, in
  this case it was zero and resulted in an attempt to read beyond
  EOF. This is corrected and the maximum volume sequence number
  is determined and stored when a small input file is used as
  input to the Pre-Merge Copy process.
