Error description

  • MQ V9
    .
Performance issue when getting by CorrelId from deep shared
    shared queue.
    .
Additional Information: The PTF for this APAR updates queue
manager code that is part of load module CSQELPLM, located in
SCSQAUTH. Although SCSQAUTH is in both the CICS region STEPLIB
and the MQ started task, this particular module is only used by
the MQ queue manager started task.
    .
Each queue manager that you want to apply the code change to
must be restarted. Other queue managers in the QSG need not be
restarted but they will see no performance benefit if not
restarted. No CICS regions need to be restarted.

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Getting messages from a shared queue *
    * via the MQ CICS Bridge is done *
    * inefficiently for deep queues. *
    ****************************************************************
When the MQ CICS Bridge gets messages from a shared queue an
inefficient algorithm is used. This results in performance
degradation when the CICS Bridge is getting from a shared queue
that has a lot of messages that match the correlation id of the
    CICS bridge.

Problem conclusion

  • The algorithm used to get messages from a shared queue for the
MQ CICS Bridge has been changed so that performance is no longer
impacted when there are many messages on the shared queue with
    matching correlation ids.
