Error description

  • When sending a CMCI REST request via a DataPower it adds an XML
    declaration like <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>.  This
    causes problems parsing the REST request resulting in an HTTP
    400 response and a fault with message DFHWU4007.

    * USERS AFFECTED: All CPSM users for V5R3M0, V5R4M0 and *
    *                 V5R5M0.                                      *
    ****************************************************************
    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: If a CMCI request body with an XML *
    *                      declaration tag, for example, <?xml     *
    *                      version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>, then  *
    *                      a HTTP 400 response is returned and     *
    *                      CICS will issue message DFHWU4007.      *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION: After applying the PTF that resolves *
    * PH09525, all WUI regions must be recycled *
    * to pick up the new code. Note that the *
    * restarts do not need to occur at the same *
    *                 time.                                        *
    ****************************************************************
    After receiving a POST or PUT request over CMCI, DFHWUXML is
    invoked to parse the request body. DFHWUXML does not regard
    the XML declaration tag as a valid tag.
    If a CMCI request body begins with XML declaration tag, such as
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    then a HTTP 400 response is returned and CICS issues message:
    DFHWU4007 The body of the HTTP request was not specified
              correctly.
    .
    Additional Keywords: msgDFHWU4007 WU4007

Problem conclusion

  • DFHWUXML has been modified to to parse and validate an XML
    declaration tag.
