APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • After either a) creating a new ACL-enabled VOB and populating it
with elements via clearfsimport; or b) using mkreplica -import
-npreserve to import a new replica of an ACL enabled VOB, a
subsequent checkvob test may report all (or most) element as
    misprotected.

There appears to be no operational impact at the moment, all
elements are still accessible by the desired users.

Normal ACL repairs (vob_sidwalk -recover_filesystem, checkvob
-pool -fix) do not change the ACL's on the containers, and
    errors continue to be reported.

On some occasions a client checkout/checkin of the impacted
    element resolves the "misprotection."

Local fix

  • Changing the rolemap on the element to a new, non "default"
rolemap seems to reduce the occurrence of the issue.
