Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: * * All Db2 12 for z/OS users of job DSNTIJRV, * * program DSNTRVFY, the validation * * tool for DB2-supplied stored procedures * * and user-defined functions (UDFs). * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: * * When the job DSNTIJRV is submitted * * on a system where a large number of * * WLM environments are defined, * * the following message may appear * * in the output: * * DSNT038I DSNTRVFY - THE WLM * * ENVIRONMENT xxxxxxxx IS NOT * * AVAILABLE * * Also, the preceding DSNT028I message * * indicates a blank STATE and NUMTCB * * of 0 for the WLM environment: * * DSNT028I DSNTFVFY - WLM ENVIRONMENT * * DETAILS * * NAME xxxxxxxx * * PROC pppppppp * * STATE * * NUMTCB 0 * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * * Apply corrective PTF when available * **************************************************************** Currently, the program DSNTRVFY allocates a 32K buffer to store the output of the DISPLAY WLM,APPLENV=* command. If the command output is larger than 32K, information for one or more WLM application environments is lost. In this case, when the program DSNTRVFY attempts to look for a valid WLM application environment that is part of the command output that did not fit in the buffer, the search fails and the error "DSNT038I DSNTRVFY - THE WLM ENVIRONMENT xxxxxxxx IS NOT AVAILABLE? is issued. Also the message DSNT028I indicates a blank state and a NUMTCB of 0.
Problem conclusion
In response, this APAR corrects the problem by increasing the buffer size from half word to full word.
