APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • In IBM Z Development and Test Environment (ZD&T) v12.0.1,
deployment of an image may hang in phase FINAL_LOCALIZING when
LOAD parms is set to "IEASYM   (00)", like for example:

IEASYM   (00)
PARMLIB  SYS1.PARMLIB                 VOLABC

Websphere Liberty traces and deployment log
zdt_modify_IEASYM.sh.logcwill show not return from
shell script zdt_modify_IEASYM.sh

Local fix

  • Change "IEASYM (00)" to "IEASYM 00" in
- either <deploy directory>/zdt/zdtInstall/loadParm.txt and
resume the deployment

- or in extracted LOAD00 (usually locates at SYS1.IPLPARM) to
restart a new deployment

Websphere Liberty traces and deployment log
zdt_modify_IEASYM.sh.log will show not returned from shell
script for zdt_modify_IEASYM.sh.  This is due to incorrect
handling of the parenthesis in "IEASYM   (00)".
