PH06931: DB2 ADMIN TOOL - FOREIGN KEYS NOT RECREATED AFTER DROP PRIMARY KEY

APAR status

Error description

• When the primary index of a parent table is updated and the
  change requires the DROP/CREATE of the primary key index of
  the parent (by ALTER TABLE/DROP PRIMARY KEY followed by DROP/
  CREATE unique index) the primary key is recreated afterwards by
  ALTER TABLE/ADD PRIMARY KEY but the foreign keys of the children
  table(s) are not re-established.

  The target table's primary index needs to be updated as a result
  of the Compare. For this to take place, the index must be
  dropped and recreated. In order to drop the index, the primary
  key must be dropped. The dropping of this primary key causes a
  reactionary drop of the foreign keys on its child tables. The
  change file does not contain the proper recreate DDL for the
