Error description

  • When a table has a column default value changed which will be
    achieved through ALTER TABLE/ALTER COLUMN and table has views,
    the ALTER fails with SQLCODE -650 / SQLCODEN650 REASON 22. This
    is because the views need to be dropped before the ALTER
    statement can be executed, then create views back.

    For a Compare, when views are included in the source DDL, the
    tool knows it has to drop them first in order to perform ALTER
    on the table, then recreates them.

    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    A table which has column default value changed , the change
    will be achieved with an Alter table. When the table has
    views on the target and the source DDL does not include the
    views, the views are not dropped. In order for the ALTER
    TABLE to be successful, the views need to be dropped and
    recreated after the alter or the change will fail with
    SQLCODE=-650. When the views are included in the source DDL
    the tool knows it has to drop them first and no error.
