Error description

  • Even though the customer uses waitForAll API of CommonJ so that
    it wait for the completion of all works, there is a chance that
    WorkItem.getResult returns null even after waitForAll returns
    true. This behavior may cause the unexpected NPE in the
    customer's asyncbean application.

    There is a small timing window after the WorkManager
    waitForAll method returns indicating all work is complete
    where querying a WorkItem's getResult method can return NULL,
    indicating that the work is not yet complete.
