APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • You set up High Availability (HA) on a BigSQL 5.0.4 instance.
In the event of a network issue on the standby node, where the
OS command 'ping' fail to reach the primary, the following
warnings:

terminated due to exception:
2018-11-26 12:09:40,606 WARNING 26217-140706560350016: 'module'
object has no attribute 'into'

will be recorded in the log file

/var/ibm/bigsql/logs/failover-controller/failover-controller.log

and the failover may not occur.

Local fix

  • Edit the script

/usr/ibmpacks/bigsql/5.0.4.0/bigsql/failover-controller/helpers/
db2.py

and replace  "into" with "info" on the statement at line 152

logging.into("Head node hostname is unreachable. (ping with 2
second timeout)")

Do this on the nodes running the primary and standy BigSQL head
nodes.

Make a backup copy of the original file before changing it and
make sure to preserve the indentation of the line. If in doubt
contact the IBM technical support.
