the Systems Options utility program CCVBDDDI.

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Enable CICS Configuration Manager for *
    *                      z/OS to complete Server initialization  *
    * when no TCPIPservice ports are defined *
    * via the Systems Options utility program *
    *                      CCVBDDDI.                               *
    ****************************************************************
The utility program CCVBDDDI defines Systems Options for the
CICS Configuration Manager Server. Included in the options are
TCPIPservice ports which are dynamically created by the Server
during initialization processing via EXEC CICS CREATE
    TCPIPSERVICE commands.

If no ports are defined in Systems Options, or all the defined
ports fail in creation, the Server initialization fails with the
    CCVLOG displayed message:

CCV5025E None of the TCPIPSERVICE connections in the
System Options record could be created.
                   Initialization terminated.

After applying this APAR, installations may choose whether to
define the CICS Configuration Manager TCPIPservice ports:

       - dynamically via the Systems Options (CCVBDDDI utility)
       - statically via CSD definitions (refer SCCVSAMP CCVXCSDD)
       - or both.

For installations wishing to implement AT-TLS security, AT-TLS
Basic Mode can be implemented with the CCVBASIC (the default
name) CICS Configuration Manager TCPIPservice port, as defined
by the CCVBDDDI utility using the control statements:

       AuthenticatedPortNumber
       AuthenticatedPortName

However, AT-TLS Aware Mode requires the port to be defined as
SSL(ATTLSAWARE), and these ports must be defined as CSD
    resources.

Installations wishing to define the TCPIPservice ports in the
CSD to set site specific attribute values will no longer be
required to define at least one port via the Systems Options to
    complete Server initialization.

Problem conclusion

  • CICS Configuration Manager v5.4 is enhanced. Server
    initialization no longer fails if:

     - no TCPIPservice ports are defined via the Systems Options; or
     - all Systems Options defined ports fail dynamic creation.

Installations may choose to define the Server TCPIPservice ports
either dynamically via the Systems Options, statically using
    CSD definitions, or both.

Note: The dynamically created TCPIPservice ports have
predefined attribute values, as shown below:

                Default
                Name SSL Authenticate
                -------- --- ------------
                CCVNONE NO NO
                CCVBASIC NO BASIC
                CCVSSL YES BASIC

If the installation wishes their TCPIPservice ports to
have attribute values other than those dynamically created
by the Server initialization, then the TCPIPservice
resources should be defined in the CSD and the
corresponding definitions removed from the Systems Options.
