PH05877: ERROR LOADING SCHEMAS FOR A SQL SERVER DATA SERVER CONNECTION WITH NATIVE KERBEROS SSO: MSR_GEN_0071

Error description

• A SQL Server data server connection is created using Kerberos
  SSO.  Kerberos SSO is configured at the web server and the
  sqljdbc_auth.dll file for the SQL JDBC Driver's native
  integrated authentication is copied to the bin64 directory.  The
  connection tests fine, and when testing the login is made as the
  expected user.  When clicking on the Schemas tab for the same
  connection, Cognos attempts to connect to SQL Server as the
  account which runs the Cognos processes, instead of the user who
  logged in.  If this service user does not have access to the
  target database, an error is thrown: MSR_GEN_0071 Internal error
  getting catalogs and schemas for: "Data Server"
  

Local fix

• Grant the service account which runs the Cognos service
  permission to access the target database, or configure a
  different authentication type for the data server, like a saved
  Signon
