Error description
ERROR DESCRIPTION: When saving a report as a report view, an error message is thrown up. This only occurs in IE not in Chrome or Firefox. The error message is included in the defect files. Error seen in 11.0.12 and in 11.0.13. PREREQUISITES: The report's Default Portal Action is set to View most recent report and the report has earlier been executed with a saved output. The execution should have been performed by Run as-> Run in background-> HTML-> Delivery-> Save report. This results in a version being saved. STEPS TO RECREATE: 1. Log in to Cognos Analytics 2. Go to the team content folder 3. Click on the report you have chosen to test with (any sample report that meets the prerequisites will do) to view the latest executed version. 4. Run the report. 7. Press the drop-down beside the Save icon. 8. Choose "Save as report view". 9. The report may hang for some time. Leave running and avoid clicking around. Eventually the erorr will appear. 10. Error message "XML Error" is thrown up. WORKAROUND: Only for authors/developers/system admins. Press the Edit icon once to open object in Edit mode. Press the Edit icon again to close the Edit mode. Then press Save as report view.
