PH05341: CAST CURRENT_DATE TO TIMESTAMP RETURNS WRONG TIME PORTION WHEN PROCESSED LOCALLY

Error description

• When CAST cannot be executed on database level IBM Cognos does
  the calculation, but returns current time instead of begin of
  day/ midnight.
  Using constant value like '2018-11-12' instead of current_date
  is working.
  

Local fix

• Ensure a calculation (here: cast( current_date, timestamp) ) is
  sent to your database.
  Or use an expression converting current_date to string first,
  then back to date; for example: cast(cast(cast(current_date,
  varchar(10)),date),timestamp)
