PH04647: REPORT PRINT LOOP WITH NOT FOUND POINT-AND-SHOOT (PNS) INPUT RECORDS

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Customer is performing SUBSET processing with a Point and
  Shoot file (PNS). A large number of keys from the PNS is not
  being found.
  
  The SUBSET process runs to completion but when the PROCESS
  report is being printed it loops after printing all expected
  output, including the PNS "rows not found".
  
  It eventually fills up the spool and needs to be canceled.
  
  This APAR is being sysrouted from release B30 APAR PH04646.

  A counter variable for the number of report lines overflows
  because of insufficient precision.
  

Problem conclusion

• Optim processing will be corrected and the precision of the
  report lines counter variable increased.
