Error description
Message counters and journal identifiers are missing when MERVA is connected to SWIFTAlliance Access (SAA).
Local fix
Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of MERVA connected to SAA. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Message counters are missing to compute * * the message traffic with SAA. Journal * * identifiers are missing to write * * incoming messages and ACKs / NAKs from * * SAA to the journal. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: This has been provided. Now three message * * counters quantify the message traffic with * * SAA. Two identifiers mark incoming messages * * and ACKs / NAKs from SAA in the journal. * ****************************************************************
Problem conclusion
1. Message counters ---------------- The following message counters can now be shown: 'Received SW Output Msgs from SAA' The number of SWIFT output messages coming in from SAA. 'Received SW ACKs / NAKs from SAA' The number of SWIFT acknowledgments and negative acknowledgments coming in from SAA. 'Message traffic with SAA' The sum of SWIFT output messages, ACKs, and NAKs coming in from SAA. The summary counter 'Message traffic with SAA' shows the number of licensed messages with SAA. That is, the sum of SWIFT input and output messages. The number of SWIFT input messages going out to SAA is equivalent to the number of SWIFT ACKs / NAKs coming in from SAA. The counters can be displayed using the operator commands DCLOG DETAIL or DCLOG LAST. The counters can be printed using the utility DSLCNTUT. 2. Journal identifiers ------------------- The following hexadecimal journal IDs are now available: 9A Received MQ datagram (SWIFT output message) from SAA 9B Received MQ datagram (SWIFT ACK or NAK) from SAA In order to write records with the ID 9A or 9B to the journal, parameter JRNDGRM=YES must be specified in the appropriate DSLKPROC receive process. The utility DSLBA13R can now count the occurrences of the IDs 9A and 9B and optionally print the journal records with ID 9A or 9B.
