Error description

  • If a CM Batch or Compare job includes an object with a spatial
    index, the Object Comparison Report may include the following
    message:
    Field IX_EXTENSION_TYPE changed from 'Spatial index' to 'Simple
    index'
    Note:  IX_EXTENSION_TYPE is a column in SYSIBM.SYSINDEXES
    which indicates the type of index ('T' for spatial, blank for
    simple).
    This message appears because Admin Tool and Object Comparison
    Tool do not yet support spatial indexes. With this APAR
    applied, the job will instead issue an error message if the
    spatial index needs to be dropped and recreated, and a warning
    message if it does not:
    ADB7129W / msgadb7129w Index extension type not supported. Type
    = extension_type Index= index_creator.index_name
    ADB7119E / msgadb7119e Index extension type not supported.
    Type = extension_type Index= index_creator.index_name
    ADB1973W / msgadb1973w Index index_name is a spatial index,
    which is not supported.

    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    If a CM Batch or Object Compare job involves an object
    with a spatial index, The 'Object Comparison Report' in
    the Analyze output may contain the following:

    Field IX_EXTENSION_TYPE changed from
    'Spatial index' to 'Simple index'

    That is, the Analyze job is indicating that the value
    in SYSIBM.SYSINDEXES column IX_EXTENSION_TYPE will be
    changed from 'T' to ' '. The blank value indicates
    a simple index. This is because Admin Tool / Object
    Compare do not yet support spatial indexes.

    With this APAR applied, Analyze will instead issue an
    error message if the table the spatial index is defined
    on needs to be dropped and recreated, and a warning
    message if it does not.

    New messages:

    ADB7129W / msgadb7129w Index extension type not supported.
    Type = extension_type Index= index_creator.index_name

    Explanation
      The specified index that you are attempting to compare is a
      spatial index. Object Compare does not support spatial
      indexes. In this case, the table on which the index is
      defined has been altered or has no changes.

    ADB7119E / msgadb7119e Index extension type not supported.
    Type = extension_type Index= index_creator.index_name

    Explanation
      The specified index that you are attempting to compare is a
      spatial index. Object Compare does not support spatial
      indexes. In this case, the table on which the index is
      defined has been dropped and recreated. This recreation
      might compromise existing column information for the
      spatial index.

    ADB1973W /msgadb1973w Index index_name is a spatial index,
    which is not supported.

    Explanation
      The index that you are attempting to compare is a spatial
      index. Object Compare does not support spatial indexes.
      Therefore, this index will not be processed or displayed
      correctly.
