Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of IBM WebSphere Application * * Server. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: The application server may not load * * server-wide shared libraries when the * * application class-loader policy is * * set to "Single". * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** When the application class-loader policy is set to "Single", a server may unexpectedly bypass user-defined classloader instances when plumbing the single application classloader. When this problem occurs shared libraries associated with the user-defined classloaders (i.e. server-wide shared libraries) will not be visible to end-user applications, and the applications will unexpectedly fail with classloading exceptions or errors.
Problem conclusion
Apply APAR PH02197 to ensure the application server always loads server-wide shared libraries when the application class-loading policy is set to "Single". The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fix pack 9.0.0.10 and 8.5.5.15.
