    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: In IMS V14 and later, this enhancement *
    * adds a new auto signon option to ETOS. *
    * The option allows customers to have a *
    * RACF ACEE created for the auto signed *
    * on userid. Previously auto signon would *
    * only sign on a userid, without the RACF *
    *                      environment.                            *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the maintenance for this APAR. *
    ****************************************************************
The automatic RACF signon has already been implemented to IMS
V13 with ETOS APAR PI71728. This APAR adds it to IMS V14 and
later. In addition, this APAR adds functionality to IMS V13
    provided in PI71728.

Problem conclusion

  • This fix provides an additional option to the ETOS auto-logon
    signon process for SLU2/3270 devices.

The new logon option (5. RACF USERID) allows for the automatic
creation of a valid IMS RACF environment for the 3270/SLU2 node
logging on. The RACF environment is used by IMS for RACF
authorization checking. The option makes use of a customer
specified userid and is passed by ETOS to IMS/RACF during
automatic signon. The option is available only for 3270/SLU2
devices and may be specified to ETOS via ETOS batch utility
    and/or ETOS IMS transaction IZTRAN.

    Additional considerations:
If users are enabled to signon to IMS multiple times (from
multiple terminals) with the same userid, it is best practice to
use ETOS logon and naming options that do not create naming
collision errors. For example, when using USERID or RACF USERID
for the logon process, do not use IMS DEFAULT as the LTERM/USER
NAMING OPTION. Instead, use NODE=LTERM=USER as the LTERM/USER
    NAMING OPTION.

In IMS V13, this fix can use the automatic RACF signon with the
LUNAME BEFORE USERID of the table search sequence option.
