APAR status

Error description

• WASPreUpgrade from a remote migration jar fails with a cryptic
  error, often implying the part of the path before the space is
  not a valid command.
  

Local fix

Problem summary

  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: "6 was not expected" message when       *
  *                      running Remote Migration                *
  *                      WASPreUpgrade.bat when JAVA_HOME        *
  *                      contains space character.               *
  ****************************************************************
  * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
  ****************************************************************
  This problem can occur when all of the following are true:
  * A remote migration jar is created and Java is not included
  in the jar.
  * The jar is shipped to a Windows system
  * JAVA_HOME is set to an otherwise valid Java path that
  contains a space character
  When WASPreUpgrade.bat is run, it will emit a message like "6
  was not expected at this time." and migration will not run.
  This is because the JAVA_HOME value gets processed by
  WASPreUpgrade and various variables are set. These variables
  do not handle the space correctly and various problems occur,
  with the first problem to derail the script causing the
  cryptic message above.
  

Problem conclusion

• WASPreUpgrade.bat was adjusted to tolerate space characters in
  JAVA_HOME.
  
  The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
  fix pack 8.5.5.15 and 9.0.0.9.  Please refer to the Recommended
