Error description

  • Steps : (Please refer the attached
    Custom_View_Issue_With_Read_Only_Copy.mp4 )
    1. Create a SysML Project.
    2. Create a Block definition diagram in "Default" package.
    3. Add 4 blocks and 1 InterfaceBlock to the Block definition
    diagram.
    4. Now Right click the diagram and click "Create Diagram
view".It creates a read only copy of the diagram.
    5. Right click the diagram copy in model browser and select
    features.
    6. In Features window, select the drop-down list of Custom Views
and click "New Custom View" and select the "Default" package.
    7. In the custom view dialog select "Criteria Type" as
    "Queries".
    8. In the custom view dialog, select the drop-down list of
    "Criteria" and click "New".
    9. In the Query dialog goto "Criteria" tab. In the Filter
Tabular column select the "Element Type" as "Block". Click Apply
and Ok. Click Ok in the remaining dialog's.
    10. Open the Read only copy and observe the elements present in
    the diagram

    Observation :
As per the query, Only Block's should be present in the diagram.
Remaining model elements should be filtered out. But the read
only copy shows all the elements. This is an issue and it has to
be fixed in Rational Rhapsody 8.3.1.

    Workaround:

The changes to the query are not updating automatically. So you
    need to either:

    1) Open the CustomView features window, deselect the query in
the Criteria selection and hit apply. Then re-select the query
in the Criteria selection and hit apply.
    2) Open the Diagram View features window, deselect the
CustomView in the "Custom Views" selection and hit apply. Then
re-select the CustomView in the "Custom Views" selection and hit
    apply.

The Diagram View will then update to show blocks only.
