Error description

  • When we shutdown a complete system in a sysplex,
which happens to be the active OPC controllers
system and where the PAM is running, we see OPC
get started on the other system. Also the
EVJEOBSV is triggered. Resources still are
reported to OPC. When the system is almost gone
the PAM is taken out en the SAM is suppost to
take over. We see this happen but resources are
not reported to OPC anymore.

* PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: When an Automation manager takeover     *
*                      occurs, and the new manager resides on  *
*                      a different system than the one to be   *
*                      replaced, then the OPC observer task    *
*                      will not be listening on the correct    *
*                      system.                                 *

* RECOMMENDATION:                                              *

The OPC observer task should be informed when the Automation
Manager is moved to a different system.

Problem conclusion

  • OPC message table fragment EVJMOPCE has been changed to trap
msgHSAM1309I and issue a START to the OPC observer task.
