OW30410: MODIFY TSO,USERMAX=0 DELETES THE TSO GENERIC NAME FROM THE SYSPLEX

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• User specified SYS1.PARMLIB member TSOKY00 (TSOKEYnn) parameter
  TCASGNAM=name. This tells TCAS to register this name in the
  sysplex as the TSO generic name.
  Later, an operator issued command F tso,USERMAX=0. This resulted
  in TCAS deleting the name from ISTGENERIC and from the TCAS
  table. This is done to prevent logon attempts to this instance
  of TSO while the usermax is set to zero.
  If the operator later issued F tso,USERMAX=n (where n is greater
  than 0), then the TCASGNAM could not be re-registered in
  ISTGENERIC because the name had been deleted from the TCAS table
  

Local fix

• Avoid setting usermax to zero; Otherwise, a restart of TCAS is
  needed to reregister the generic name to the sysplex.

  * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *

  When MODIFY TSO,USERMAX=0 command is processed, TSO is
  deregistered from the sysplex.  With OW28108 applied, the
  TSO generic name stored in the TCAS table (TCASGNAM) is
  set to blanks.  If USERMAX is then set to a non-zero number,
  TSO does not get reregistered to the SYSPLEX, because the
  name had been set to blanks.
  

Problem conclusion

• Macro IKTTCAST has been modified to define a new bit (TCASGDEL)
  which will indicate if the TSO generic name has been
  de-registered from the sysplex.
  
  Module IKTXINIT has been modified to check the TCASGDEL bit
  in addition to the TCASGNAM field before calling GNAMESUB.
  GNAMESUB will only be called if TCASGDEL is off (indicating
  TSO has not been de-registered from the sysplex) and TCASGNAM
  is not equal to blanks.
  
  Module IKTCAS21 has been modified to set TCASGDEL after
  performing a GNAMEDEL or GNAMEADD flavored SETLOGON.
  If a GNAMEDEL is done TCASGDEL will be set to 1.
  If a GNAMEADD is done TCASGDEL will be set to 0.
